Fosters Solicitors

Community and Events News: October 2024

Throughout the year, Fosters Solicitors hosts and attends a variety of events in association with our business and community partners, as well as undertaking activities to support the well-being of our colleagues and our wider local community network.

October certainly saw plenty going on around Fosters as the firm embraced Autumn, here’s what we got up to!

Safe Suffolk Renters

We were delighted to partner with and attend, ‘Shaping a better tomorrow together: A Conference for Private Sector Landlords’ organised by Safe Suffolk Renters.

At the event hosted at the University of Suffolk in Ipswich, our colleagues, Tyler Clayton and Ashley Roe were able to share updates and give landlords advice about the Renters’ Rights Bill and conveyancing and lease matters.

If you have any specific questions regarding the Bill or any legal enquiries about landlord and tenant disputes or your property matter, please get in touch.

The Legal 500 UK 2025

Fosters Solicitors was again recognised and recommended across all our applicable practice areas in the latest Legal 500 UK – the global rankings guide that annually analyses the capabilities of law firms and ranks them accordingly.

Special congratulations also went to our Personal Injury and Medical Negligence teams who have been ranked as Top Tier in the listings for the first time!

Meet your team

We were delighted to introduce our new Court of Protection & Vulnerable Persons team here at Fosters Solicitors.

Headed by our Senior Associate, Paige Gouldthorpe, working alongside our Partners Steve Green and Chris Fielding and supported by Elisa Bristo and Helen Hinde. The team have extensive expertise and knowledge in supporting those unable to act for themselves. Find out more here >

Prestigious Royal Norwich event

Together with our fellow Royal Norwich strategic partners, Smith & Pinching, we were thrilled to host our breakfast networking event at the premier country club venue. Guests were invited for breakfast and to hear from inspiring speaker, John Peters about his amazing life story including his experiences as a Gulf War POW.

Life-planning legal surgery

As part of a range of legal surgeries undertaken by our Wills, Trusts & Probate department, our solicitor Jordan Rodwell and his colleague Autumn Orno visited a local assisted living residence to provide free expert advice on Wills and later life planning.

If you’d like a similar visit to your home or complex, please do get in touch with our team.

Do Blue Day

In support of the annual World Mental Health Day and our former charity of the year, Norfolk and Waveney Mind, colleagues from across the firm wore blue.

Finnbar’s Force collaboration

Our Joint Deputy Head of Wills, Trusts & Probate, Louise Gibbs-Kneller joined our current charity of the year Finnbar’s Force at a drop-in coffee morning event at their family community hub, helping provide legal advice to their service users. Find out more and get in touch with the charity about other similar events >

Canary partnership events

During the month, we were delighted to attend two Norwich City FC events as part of our primary partnership with the club. The first saw a Directors’ Dinner with Eleven Sport Media, which took place at Cinema City and was attended by Josh Perez-Fosh and Polly Temple of our Corporate team.

Then later in the month, Partner Simon Loome and Senior Associate Charlotte Darkins represented the firm at the Kit Sponsors’ Dinner, where they joined our player Jack Stacey alongside his teammates and their sponsors.

Importance of kindness

Thank you to Norwich Theatre for hosting us at their inaugural Paying it Forward in Business event at the Playhouse. The focus of three panel discussions was the power of kindness in business – with our colleague, Paige Gouldthorpe, joining the ‘People’ panel, which touched upon leadership and authenticity in the workplace, and how organisations embed kindness in their company culture.

A thought-provoking and creative event, with the development of the Kindness Wall, certainly helping to spread a little kindness!

Thank you to NCFSC!

We were delighted to host our friends from the Norwich City Fans’ Social Club for the Canaries’ match against Middlesbrough, which was a 3-3 thriller! Well done to them for all their amazing fundraising efforts in support the Community Sports Foundation, which has seen them raise over £75,000 for the local charity.

Wymondham Halloween Scarycrow Trail

Isn’t she wicked?! Our wonderful former colleague Janet helped create our contribution to this year’s Wymondham Halloween Scarycrow Trail, pictured here. Over the half-term holiday, visitors to the town were encouraged to visit all the scarycrows around the participating homes and businesses in Wymondham.

Halloween Quiz and Chips

Continuing the Halloween theme, we held a quiz and chips evening in support of our charity of the year, Finnbar’s Force. Congratulations to our winning quiz team ‘Epiphany of Title’ and thanks to everyone who got in the spooky spirit across the firm.
