Celebrating 60 years of the Anglian Combination Football League

This season marks the 60^th anniversary of the Anglian Combination Football League.

To celebrate, Fosters Solicitors alongside its league partners, are looking for help to find and share memories and memorabilia to commemorate this special landmark.

We would love to hear about and receive stories, photographs, film footage or physical souvenirs representing the history of the league, from its foundation in 1964, right up to the present day.

It’s hoped that all the items shared can be digitally recorded to help create a living history of the Anglian Combination Football League, as well as being exhibited at the league’s annual general meeting to be scheduled in the summer.

There will also be the opportunity for a contributor to win a special prize for themselves and their Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination team!

In a change to this year’s Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination Grassroots Hero Award – the competition judges would love to hear from clubs and their supporters with their stories, pictures or souvenirs that best encompass and celebrate the history of the Anglian Combination Football League.

All those who get in touch with their memory or item will be entered into this season’s competition, with the chance of winning themselves a £100 multi-store gift card and a brand-new Macron kit for the Anglian Combination team of their choice, courtesy of Fosters Solicitors and the league’s kit and equipment partners, Macron Store Norwich.

The winning entry will be the one that the judges feel best celebrates and reflects the history of local grassroots football in Norfolk and Suffolk.

There have been so many success stories over the years for both clubs and the people associated with them – so whether it’s cup or league wins or runs, family stories of playing together in teams, club characters or items that bring the footballing past to life, please do get in touch.

Our partnership

Fosters Solicitors became title sponsors of the Anglian Combination Football League in 2021, further cementing the firm’s ties with local football, having also been the official legal partner of both Norwich City Football Club and Lowestoft Town Football Club for over 13 years.

The Anglian Combination currently comprises a total of 100 teams participating across seven divisions. With a competition boundary of 50 miles from the centre of Norwich, the league consists of teams from across Norfolk and Suffolk.
