Fosters is delighted to celebrate Carol Tooke as our Community Hero for March.
City fan Carol has been nominated by Wymondham Dementia Support Group (WDSG) in recognition of her outstanding dedication and compassion for the group and its members.

Founded in 2008, WDSG is a remarkable local charity dedicated to supporting people living with dementia, alongside their carers and families, across Wymondham, the surrounding villages, and South Norfolk.
Their core initiative is the much-loved Pabulum Café, held every Monday and Friday at the Fairland Church Centre in Wymondham. The café provides a welcoming, relaxed space where attendees can enjoy sporting and social activities, while carers benefit from the opportunity to share experiences, seek guidance, and feel supported in a safe and understanding environment.
Carol first joined WDSG in 2010 alongside her partner, Judy, who was living with dementia. After Judy sadly passed away in 2017, Carol chose to remain part of the community, going on to become one of the charity’s most valued volunteers.
Always ready with a listening ear, Carol plays a vital role in keeping the group running smoothly – from helping in the kitchen with endless teas, coffees, and biscuits, to supporting fundraising activities and bringing creativity to the group through her handmade cards and monthly bric-a-brac shop. Her cheerful presence at local craft fairs and car boot sales helps raise vital funds, while her background as a nurse and trained first aider means she is a reassuring and practical support whenever needed.
Deborah Anstee, Group Organiser, said: “Carol’s kindness, energy, and commitment make a lasting difference to everyone she meets, and she is truly deserving of recognition as a Community Hero.”
On being recognised, Carol said: “I really enjoy my role at the dementia group and I’m very proud to be recognised as a community hero.”
Carol and her fellow WDSG volunteers will be attending the Preston North End match at Carrow Road as guests of Fosters Solicitors – with the charity also having been nominated as the firm’s 2026 Charity of the Year.
