Fosters Solicitors

Cycling challenge fundraiser named Community Hero

This month’s Fosters Solicitors’ Community Hero is Charlie Powles, nominated for his 1,000km cycling challenge, fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK.

He cycled every day throughout October, completing a total of 1,020km and raising £550 for his chosen charity.

I was inspired to get involved because I have close family members who have experienced prostate cancer and it’s had a huge impact on our family over the years.

“It’s such an important cause that affects so many lives, particularly men, and I wanted to do my part to help make a difference.

“Being recognised by Norwich City genuinely means so much to me.

“It’s a club I’ve always supported and held close to my heart, so to receive recognition from them for something so personal and meaningful is truly special.

“It’s been amazing to feel the support and pride from family and friends throughout the challenge; it really kept me motivated and made the experience even more rewarding.”

A close friend of Charlie’s, said: “Charlie has faced many of his own challenges over the last couple months, with his mental health suffering at times.

“We couldn’t be prouder of him and want to show him that there’s so much to live for! I know that this special recognition from his club would mean the world to him.

We hope Charlie enjoys his day at Carrow Road for the QPR match where he will be presented to the crowd.

About our Community Hero initiative

Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.

Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s) or initiatives selfless work or important community campaign.

Previous Community Heroes have included young carers, veterans, equality campaigners, charity fundraisers and their beneficiaries.

Would you like to nominate a Community Hero? Please go to canaries.co.uk/club/heroes to tell us all about them!
