Fundraising runner named Community Hero

Nicol was nominated by the charity and is described as a true inspiration: “Aside from Nicol being a regular volunteer at Team Talk and Duncan’s Club, her journey to getting fit and healthy is a truly inspiring story and one that could resonate with other people,” said Roxanne Bates, events manager at the Foundation.

“She recently took part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, raising funds for us and completing the course in just over three hours, despite suffering from a knee injury.

“So far she has raised an amazing amount of money, over £1,400.”

Commenting on her nomination, Nicol said: “I am incredibly honoured to have been chosen as the Community Sports Foundation’s Community Hero.

“I have been a volunteer with them for several years and the Foundation has a special place in my heart after supporting my family through some tough times. 

“I set myself the challenge of taking on my first (and last) half marathon to raise funds to help others how the Foundation has helped us.

“I couldn’t be prouder of completing it and raising so much money, so a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me!”

About our Community Hero initiative

Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.
