Damien is a Partner, Solicitor Advocate and Head of our Crime & Business Defence team. He represents clients in serious and complex criminal cases, including murder, sexual offences, fraud and prosecutions brought by public bodies.

Damien has practised law for 30 years and has been a Partner at Fosters since 2011. He joined the Management Board as an Equity Partner in 2022.
The Legal 500 has described Damien as a leading light and a leading lawyer. He regularly represents clients in the Crown Court and is one of a small number of advocates to hold Higher Courts qualifications in both criminal and civil proceedings.

R v U in 2018
Damien secured an acquittal for a client charged with murder following a fatal fight in Morrisons.
R v X in 2023
Damien secured the only acquittal among a group of defendants accused of a gangland killing.
R v H in 2026
Damien secured an acquittal for a client charged with joint enterprise murder following a county lines killing.
Damien has also provided legal commentary and opinion for television and BBC radio. He has discussed topics including drug conspiracies, the Milly Dowler murder trial and appeal work.
His work also includes corporate criminal defence. The Royal College of Nursing regularly instructs Damien to represent nurses accused of criminal offences. He has secured acquittals for senior nurses facing allegations of gagging, deliberate beating and false imprisonment.
In December 2014, Damien was appointed to the judiciary as a Chair of the Police Appeals Disciplinary Tribunal. On behalf of the Home Office, he considers cases involving police misconduct and poor performance.
His work has included a significant ruling on the relationship between an off duty police officer and the right to privacy under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights.
Damien combines his part time judicial role with his full time criminal defence work across Norfolk and Suffolk.
