Steve is Co-Head of our Personal Injury & Group Actions department and has three decades of experience in helping those who have suffered injury through no fault of their own. Steve specialises in head and spinal injury claims but also has significant experience in industrial disease and group product liability matters. He is also an experienced Trustee, Deputy and Attorney, and is regularly appointed by the Court of Protection to assist those of our clients who need help in managing their day to day affairs.
Steve specialises in complex and high-value claims, particularly those arising from head and spinal injury or through industrial disease such as exposure to asbestos, excessive noise or poorly maintained machinery.
His many successes include, recovering £1.25m for a cyclist who was knocked off his bike by a motorist; £725k for a driver whose vehicle was overturned after being struck by another; and securing a six-figure settlement at trial for a woman whose late husband was exposed to asbestos in the 1960s, leading to him developing mesothelioma nearly 40 years later.
Steve also undertakes group action work in product liability claims and has helped many clients to obtain compensation in a wide variety of actions in this highly-specialised area of law, most recently in claims for substandard PIP breast implants, defective hip joints and vaginal mesh.
Regularly recommended by his clients for his approachable and down to earth manner and lack of legal jargon, Steve works closely with organisations such as APIL, Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association, to campaign for the rights of accident victims.
As an experienced Trustee, Deputy and Attorney, Steve is regularly appointed by the Court of Protection to assist those of our clients who need help in managing their day to day affairs – a role in which he works closely with our Court of Protection & Vulnerable Persons team.
