This month’s Fosters Solicitors Community Hero is Terry Southgate, nominated by East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA).
Terry will be a guest of Norwich City Football Club for their game against Wrexham, and will be introduced to the Carrow Road crowd during a half-time presentation. The East Anglian Air Ambulance has been selected as the Canaries’ charity matchday partner for this match.
The charity are proudly supported by an army of incredible volunteers, one of whom is Terry who recently reached a significant milestone.
He has been organising bucket collections in aid of EAAA throughout Norfolk and Suffolk since 2018 and earlier this year he reached the lifetime milestone of raising £121,500 through bucket collections.
Terry’s achievements in numbers:
Sarah Hurren, head of volunteering at EAAA, says: “Everyone at EAAA is incredibly grateful to Terry.
“His dedication and tireless fundraising efforts in aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance have helped to raise over £120,000 through bucket collections alone.
“This is enough to fund 28 emergency taskings for the charity. Terry’s achievements are extraordinary and we’re delighted to see him recognised as Norwich City’s Community Hero.”
On being nominated for the award, Terry said: “I am humbled to receive a Community Hero award from Norwich City, it’s wonderful and fantastic to receive this recognition.
“I’m totally overwhelmed. I’ve been a volunteer with East Anglian Air Ambulance since 2018 and I’m immensely proud of the collections I’ve carried out, the relationships I’ve forged and the money raised as a result, which helps to save lives across our region.”
Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.
Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s) or initiatives selfless work or important community campaign.
Previous Community Heroes have included young carers, veterans, equality campaigners, charity fundraisers and their beneficiaries.
