Fosters Solicitors

Medical Negligence Lawyer

About Us

Formed in 1761, Fosters Solicitors is one of the oldest law firms in England. From that rich heritage we have grown into a modern, vibrant law firm with a culture and values that puts our clients, colleagues and partners at the centre of all we do.

The Role

We are looking to appoint an experienced medical negligence solicitor (2+ years post qualifying experience), or Legal Executive with equivalent experience, to join our Medical Negligence & Inquests team at our Norwich office.

We are an AvMA accredited, Legal 500 recommended claimant medical negligence department, seeking an enthusiastic team player looking for their next challenge.

You will be an empathetic and caring lawyer who will deliver quality specialist advice across all types of medical negligence work.

You will have a genuine passion for this area of law and the ability to work independently, whilst being able to supervise, support and mentor junior members of the team.

This position is being offered on a full-time office-based basis, but good candidates with a preference for part-time/flexible working will be considered.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a busy mixed caseload of claimant medical negligence files from initial instruction through to resolution.
  • Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis, including liaising with medical experts, counsel and the court.
  • Provide empathetic, client-focused support, maintaining regular communication to ensure clients are fully informed and supported throughout the legal process.
  • Ensure your clients achieve the best possible outcome to their claims, utilising your advanced litigation and negotiation skills.
  • Business Development – You will assist the team with the development of professional relationships with old and new service providers and potential referrers of work. This will include attendance at occasional networking events.
  • Supervision – Depending on your experience, you may be required to help supervise and develop more junior members of staff, including apprentices and trainee solicitors. We are always keen to develop new lawyers from within our team and you will have the opportunity to guide and support less experienced team members as they develop their careers with us.

· Competitive salary and benefits package.

· Opportunities for career development and progression.

· A supportive and inclusive work environment.
