Our Fosters Solicitors Community Hero for Norwich City’s fixture against Plymouth Argyle is Jo Hoy, chosen by Age UK Norwich.
Age UK Norwich is an independent charity whose mission is to improve the quality of later life by working with residents to create an age friendly and inclusive city.
They aim to achieve this by providing opportunities and services for over 50s that enhance and protect their health and wellbeing.
Jo was selected by the club’s nominated matchday charity for her dedication to Age UK Norwich, evident by her active participation in fundraising events.
The Community Hero works for The Maids Head Hotel in Norwich’s city centre, regularly using the business to provide space for the charity’s events, organise donations for auction and was part of the team that chose Age UK Norwich as the hotel’s charity of the year.
On nominating Jo, Age UK Norwich said: “Through Jo’s invaluable dedication, The Maids Head Hotel has in total donated over £3,000 this year to directly support our services for people in later life in Norwich.
“Her commitment to our community truly embodies the spirit of giving back, and we are incredibly grateful for her unwavering support.”
On being highlighted by the charity, Jo said: “Age UK Norwich are a brilliant charity doing terrific work, and it is a real pleasure to be able to support them throughout the year with fundraising, volunteering, event rooms, raffle prizes and big events like the Age UK quiz.
“We chose to support Age UK Norwich as they are so committed to improving the quality of life of older people in our region.
“Working alongside them and by sharing key objectives within the Norwich and Norfolk community, we hope we can help make a difference, now and in the future.
“From the Maids Head team, we are so proud to be a partner with you.”
Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.
Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s) or initiatives selfless work or important community campaign.
Previous Community Heroes have included young carers, veterans, equality campaigners, charity fundraisers and their beneficiaries.
