Throughout the year, Fosters Solicitors hosts and attends a variety of events in association with our business and community partners, as well as undertaking activities to support the well-being of our colleagues and our wider local community network.
As we headed towards the end of the year, November proved full of events, partnership activations and early festivities!
Huge congratulations to our Family & Children colleague Pippa France, who has officially qualified as a solicitor! Pippa continues her fantastic work supporting families alongside our wider family law team. A brilliant achievement – well done, Pippa!
Members of our Wills, Trusts & Probate team took part in a Dementia Friends session delivered by Alzheimer’s Society Norfolk & Waveney. The initiative aims to increase understanding of dementia and inspire people to make a difference in their communities – helping us better support our clients every day.
Colleagues currently completing their training contracts or apprenticeships attended Norwich School’s careers event, speaking with local students about what it’s really like to pursue a career in law. Great to meet the next generation of legal talent!
Our annual night of quizzing, fish and chips – and fundraising for Finnbar’s Force – brought colleagues from across the firm together once again. Congratulations to our Medical Negligence & Inquests team, who claimed the title of quiz champions!
As part of our primary partnership with Norwich City FC, our Wills, Trusts & Probate team hosted a legal surgery at Carrow Road. Employees were able to ask questions, learn more about making a Will, and get practical guidance tailored to them.
In collaboration with Smith & Pinching, we were delighted to welcome clients to a special joint event held at Jarrolds Norwich Department Store – an enjoyable evening for all who attended.
Colleagues took the opportunity to connect with the local legal community at the Norwich & Norfolk Junior Lawyers Division events, held alongside Smith & Pinching and the Norfolk & Norwich Law Society.
Our Sports Committee organised a padel taster night – fast-paced, great fun, and absolutely something we’ll be doing again!
Each year, Finnbar’s Force leads the huge effort to illuminate Hethersett with festive lights. Colleagues joined trustees, residents and supporters to help put up the displays across the village – all to raise funds for local families facing childhood cancer. A wonderful community effort.
The Norwich City Fans’ Social Club hosted another brilliant fundraising event at Carrow Road – this time, a bingo night supporting the Community Sports Foundation. Over £600 was raised on the night. Fantastic work all round!
Our Sports Committee arranged a friendly 5-a-side match with our partners at TaxAssist – a great run-out and a fun way to stay connected.
Solicitor Tom Miller joined the Norfolk Community Foundation in Great Yarmouth, alongside fellow professional services representatives, to discuss upcoming changes to Inheritance Tax and hear more about the Foundation’s vital work within the local charitable sector.
We proudly supported Norwich Trans Pride’s Trans Day of Remembrance film festival at the Maddermarket Theatre – a celebration of stories from local filmmakers and an important moment of reflection.
Our Head of Business & Commercial, Jamie Arnall, presented at an ABA Procurement Event to an audience of public and private sector organisations and the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply. Jamie shared insights on what to look out for in software procurement contracts, offering practical takeaways for attendees.
This month’s Fosters Solicitors’ Community Hero was Charlie Powles, recognised for his extraordinary 1,000km cycling challenge in support of Prostate Cancer UK. He cycled every day throughout October – completing 1,020km and raising £550. Charlie (right) is pictured receiving his award from Ashley Roe. An inspiring achievement!
Colleagues from our Lowestoft branch joined the festive fun at Lowestoft’s United Reformed Church, supporting the Marina Theatre’s interactive nativity with competitions and Christmas activities. A lovely way to celebrate the season with the community.
