Fosters Solicitors

Community Hero | Norwich City v Blackburn Rovers

February’s Fosters Solicitors’ Community Hero is the late Dawn Lossau, nominated by Finnbar’s Force.

Dawn and her husband Darrell tragically lost their daughter Maisie after a battle with a brain tumour in 2022.

Throughout Maisie’s illness, the family were supported by Finnbar’s Force, a Norfolk-based charity dedicated to helping families affected by childhood cancer.

In the wake of her daughter’s passing, Dawn showed remarkable strength and compassion, despite her own grief, by continuing to support and volunteer for the charity.

She gave up her time and energy to support others affected in a similar way.

Dawn sadly and unexpectedly passed away in 2024.

Tristan Cork, founder of Finnbar’s Force, said: “Dawn embodied everything a Community Hero should be; selfless, compassionate and with quiet strength, so we would be incredibly proud to honour her legacy in this way.

“Her kindness and impact are still deeply felt within our charity and community.”

Dawn’s husband Darrell will be at Norwich City’s Sky Bet Championship game against Blackburn Rovers to honour his wife’s nomination.

He said: “Dawn was always keen to raise awareness around brain tumours especially in children.

“She loved the quote: ‘Never give up, never give in.

“Finnbar’s Force helped us as a family and Dawn built up a real bond with Tristan and his partner Claire, as we all did.

“Norwich City have also helped us whenever they could, enabling us a family to enjoy a Take That concert and hosting the Heart and Soul ball in March 2022, raising awareness around children’s brain tumours and raising money for Maisie.”

About our Community Hero initiative

Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.

Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s) or initiatives selfless work or important community campaign.

Previous Community Heroes have included young carers, veterans, equality campaigners, charity fundraisers and their beneficiaries.

Would you like to nominate a Community Hero? Please go to canaries.co.uk/club/heroes to tell us all about them!
