Our Fosters Solicitors Community Hero for Norwich City’s match against Sunderland is Diane Blazier, nominated by the Community Sports Foundation as part of their takeover day.
Diane has been running the Norwich City Fans’ Social Club (NCFSC) since its formation in 2015, with the aim to bring Canary fans closer together and raise money for a good cause.
Since 2017, Fosters Solicitors have also sponsored the Norwich City Fans’ Social Club.
Averaging around seven events per season, Diane and her team of volunteers have managed to raise a grand total of £55,000 through fan forums with coaches and players, family days at The Nest, quiz nights, bingo, mental health awareness evening and evenings with legends.
The amount raised by the group during the 2023/24 season will be revealed on their socials at the end of the campaign.
Diane expressed that she is accepting this honour on behalf of the NCFSC volunteer team and wishes it to be known that in her eyes every one of them are community heroes.
On being chosen as the Foundation’s hero, she said: “To be recognised in this way is rather overwhelming.
“I do what I do because I know the importance of keeping people connected and looking out for each other.
“Football is a great platform for that and our events that we organise as a team bring us all together.
“The work I see the Foundation do is inspiring and I know that the money raised for them will help towards making a real difference to those who need it most.”
Emma Fletcher, head of fundraising at the Foundation, said: “Everyone at the Foundation is really pleased to be able to recognise Diane in this way.
“Her enthusiasm and drive have seen her, alongside a fantastic team of volunteers, organise a huge number of events, bringing fans together, coupled with a huge amount of money which has been raised and donated to the Foundation over the years.
“We really hope she enjoys her moment, and we are sure the crowd will join us in thanking her.”
Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our primary partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community. Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s), or initiatives, selfless work or important community campaign.
