Professional standard achievement

We are delighted to announce that our Senior Associate, Paige Gouldthorpe, has successfully completed the intermediate tier of The Professional Deputies Accreditation Scheme.

This relatively new multi-tiered programme is designed to complement the Office of the Public Guardian’s (OPG) standards and provide benchmarks for professional deputies and those specialising in this area of law to strive towards.

As a Court of Protection specialist, Paige explains the importance behind her undertaking this professional standard. “I can’t recommend this accreditation enough to all Court of Protection lawyers.” Paige said.

“It covers a huge range of content across 22 modules on subjects such as international law, family law and acting in a vulnerable person’s best interests – providing practical steps and best practice to complement the work we do on an everyday basis.

“It’s recognised and approved by the main and relevant public bodies working in this area, including the OPG and Ministry of Justice – and with such a high pass mark required to pass this accreditation, it helps highlight the level of knowledge, technical understanding and experience you must show to successfully obtain this standard. I’m therefore delighted to have passed and look forward to continuing the specialism our Court of Protection & Vulnerable Persons team is developing in this field.”
