Our Fosters Solicitors’ Community Hero for February is Teddy Larkins, the top fundraiser for Junior Run Norwich 2024.
The nine-year-old was one of 200 runners to take part in the annual event organised by the Community Sports Foundation, raising over £800 for Norwich City Football Club’s charity.
On being nominated, Teddy said: “It was a really exciting day, I was a little nervous at first but once I got there, the whole city was buzzing and I really enjoyed it.
“It’s great to be chosen as a community hero and to promote the Foundation. I train with them twice a week as a goalkeeper in the Under-10 Advanced Player Development Centre, so it’s brilliant to be able to give back to them.”
Although Teddy is a loyal Norwich City supporter and has been to Carrow Road on many occasions, he also has a soft spot for MLS side Chicago Fire who were also his first football kit.
Jade Nicholson, fundraising coordinator at the Community Sports Foundation said: “Teddy is a real star.
“He was our top fundraiser for our inaugural Junior Run Norwich last year, raising an incredible £848.75 for Norwich City Community Foundation to support the key work we do in supporting some of the most disadvantaged, disabled and talented people across Norfolk.
“It’s great to see one of our ADP players going the extra mile and being a fundraising legend!”
Since 2019, Fosters Solicitors have joined our partners Norwich City Football Club in highlighting the great work of local individuals and organisations in our community.
Every month during the football season, a ‘Community Hero’ is chosen for a selected matchday – providing an opportunity to showcase that person(s) or initiatives selfless work or important community campaign.
Previous Community Heroes have included young carers, veterans, equality campaigners, charity fundraisers and their beneficiaries.
