Jacob is a Solicitor with particular focus on intellectual property law, media and technology. Spanning both contentious and non-contentious matters, Jacob works primarily within our Litigation & Dispute Resolution department, while also being a part of our Business & Commercial team.
Jacob is able to assist in a wide matter of commercial and business disputes, including shareholder disputes and director/corporate governance issues, partnership disputes, breach of contract claims, and intellectual property disputes – such as those involving trade marks and passing off, copyright, design rights, patents, breach of confidence, databases and domain names.
Jacob’s particular specialism is in the exploitation and enforcement of intellectual property rights. As well as disputes, Jacob is able to take instructions or a range of commercial and non-contentious matters regarding intellectual property, such as trade mark registrations, assignments and licensing, and IP audits and health checks.
Jacob qualified as a solicitor in February 2025 and joined Fosters in November 2025, after undertaking a training contract and completing his Legal Practice Course at another regional firm. Jacob completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Kent in Canterbury, going on to complete a dual LLM in Intellectual Property Law & Medical Law with a first-class honour.
